Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) covering the final phase of production and additional scope for material and services related to Sweden’s two Blekinge-class (A26) submarines.
The order is valued at approximately SEK 9.6 billion, with the majority of deliveries scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2032.
“Saab is currently building the world’s most advanced conventional submarines for Sweden. Following excellent cooperation between Saab and FMV, we have ensured that Sweden has a state-of-the-art underwater capability which will contribute to keeping our nation’s waters safe for decades to come,”
said Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.
The A26 Blekinge-class represents the next generation of Swedish submarine capability, designed for stealth, endurance, and multi-mission flexibility in both littoral and deep-sea operations. Saab continues to work in close partnership with FMV and the Swedish Navy to deliver an underwater platform that combines proven Swedish design principles with advanced technology integration.
