The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has commissioned the purchase of three more SK 40 aircraft of the Grob 120TP model, which the Swedish Armed Forces use for basic flight training. The contract also includes the purchase of a spare engine, additional training aids, and planning tools.
In 2021, FMV signed a contract with Grob Aircraft SE to acquire aircraft, training systems, training aids, and a simulator to replace the Air Force’s existing basic flight training system. Deliveries took place in 2023 and 2024, and the Air Force now has ten aircraft and one simulator, complete with an integrated training system and maintenance contract with Grob Aircraft SE.
By exercising this contract option, FMV ensures that the flight school will have a total of 13 aircraft, enhancing the system’s robustness and availability.
The delivery of these aircraft to FMV is expected in December 2024, with the handover to the Air Force scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
