A new generation of armoured vehicles, fully developed and manufactured in the Czech Republic, is ready to take the global stage.
At IDET 2025 in Brno, the world will witness the unveiling of the Pandur 8×8 EVO, a cutting-edge fighting vehicle built by Tatra Defence Vehicle (TDV), part of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG). The premiere will take place on 28 May, marking a milestone for Czech defence capabilities.
Combat-Proven Design for Future Wars
The EVO isn’t just another upgraded platform. It’s a combat-focused, AI-enhanced, anti-drone ready vehicle built from the ground up in the Czech Republic — and with NATO in mind. Designed to serve both export markets and domestic forces, it delivers a high degree of protection, mobility, and digital dominance.
Its Iron Fist active protection system, modular weapon configurations, and AI-powered situational awareness set a new benchmark for 8×8 vehicles in its class. It’s already drawing attention from foreign customers — with hundreds of units in potential demand.
More Than a Vehicle: An Industrial Catalyst
Backed by a joint Czech–Israeli industrial effort, the Pandur 8×8 EVO brings critical capabilities home — including the first-ever transfer of weapon station production into the Czech defence industry.
According to a study by EY, the economic return is striking: every crown invested in this project returns 2.4x the value to the Czech economy. At least 67% of the production cost stays within Czech borders, boosting jobs, innovation, and local suppliers.
Not Just Assembly – True Sovereignty
While foreign platforms often offer only final assembly in-country, TDV handles full development and manufacturing, giving the Czech Armed Forces something more valuable: strategic independence. In times of crisis, local production means assured deliveries, spare parts, and support.
“We’ve made investments in R&D and manufacturing capacity that would be impossible without strong export prospects — but this benefits our own military too,” says Tomáš Mohapl, CEO of TDV. “This is about readiness, resilience, and Czech capabilities.”
Designed with Ukraine in Mind
The Pandur 8×8 EVO is shaped by modern conflict. Insights from the Ukrainian battlefield led to advanced drone protection, programmable ammunition options, and full integration of the Iron Fist APS, which now counters not only ATGMs but UAVs.
Its Mk.44S Bushmaster II 30mm cannon, Spike missile system, and advanced EO sights provide precision firepower. Integrated AI boosts real-time threat detection, decision-making, and target tracking. An onboard drone can be used for recon or as loitering munition.
Global Platform, Local Roots
CSG — the industrial group behind TDV — is scaling fast. With operations in Europe, India, the UK, and the US, and annual revenues topping €5.2 billion, the Czech-led group is rapidly establishing itself as a global player in the defence sector.
From Tatra Trucks to Eldis, MSM Group, and The Kinetic Group, CSG’s defence portfolio is deep — and growing. The Pandur 8×8 EVO is not just its newest product. It’s a flagship.
